Doe Lake Group Site is a single, large group campsite tucked into a shady stand of oaks and pines on the edge of Doe Lake within the Ocala National Forest. The site centers on a historically restored 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps dining hall and large group kitchen sitting atop a grassy hill with water views; the facility was designed for major gatherings and can accommodate up to 250 people. Tent camping is most common here, but the site is recorded as one campsite that supports both RVs and tents RVs and horse trailers are permitted only in designated areas and there are no electrical or water hookups. Restrooms with flush toilets and showers are on site, and hitching posts make the location especially convenient for equestrian groups (Doe Lake is a longtime favorite for riders) as well as for weddings and other social events that require a single, well-equipped group facility. Recreational options revolve around the lake and the broader forest: group reservations permit exclusive use of canoeing, launching low-powered boats, and fishing on Doe Lake, and campers can typically launch small craft from the site and fish toward the center of the lake. Beyond the immediate campsite, the Ocala National Forest offers an extensive off-road trail system used by ATVs and Jeeps and designated areas for deer hunting. The campground lies between Moss Bluff and Umatilla in north-central Florida, east of I-75 near State Road 40 and accessible via Forest Road 14 (Cross Road/Big Scrub Road) into the Doe Lake Recreation Area; the listed physical address is Doe Lake Campground, Umatilla, FL 32784. For reservations or refund requests, call (877) 444-6777 fees, seasonal availability, and specific group policies are handled through the reservation line.

“Had a wonderful time camping and riding horses on trails opened for the first time in 10 to 20 years! Ticks were horrible though! Had to stay under the awning of the camper as they dropped out of trees onto us. Get to know your friends intimately with tick checks! 🤣”
“Beautiful set up and view! So glad I had my wedding here! ”
“The place is beautiful. It's on a small lake it quiet and worked great for other camp. Been camping there for many years with the youth from our Church”
