Welcome to Gecko Pines! 🦎 Looking for a simple, affordable place to pitch your tent, park your van and enjoy some peace and quiet? Gecko Pines offers spacious primitive tent and van camping for $20/night on nearly 30 private acres near DeFuniak Springs, Florida. We're tucked away on a quiet dead end road with woods, open space, wildlife and dark skies.... but still close to town, I 10 and the Emerald Coast. Our property sits on a hill with its own little natural microclimate and plenty of room to breathe. Set up camp and enjoy country living for a night, weekend or a few days. What you'll have • Spacious primitive campsite • Water • Tent, car and van camping welcome • Plenty of room to spread out • Water available near the driveway • Easy vehicle access • No contact check in • Late arrivals welcome • Solar lights marking the entrance and sites • Quiet dead end road • Dark skies with very little light pollution • Deer and other wildlife • No toxic sprays used on the land • Pet friendly • Nearly 30 private acres This is primitive camping, so there are currently no bathrooms, showers, electric hookups or other campground facilities. Come prepared for a simple camping experience. Easy to get here.... hard to believe you're this close to everything We're only 2 minutes from Highway 90 and about 10 minutes from I 10. Dollar General Market is approximately 1 mile away, with fuel, food and supplies nearby. We're approximately 40 minutes from the Emerald Coast beaches, making Gecko Pines an affordable home base for Gulf days. You'll also find natural springs, kayaking, fishing, lakes, rivers and national forests throughout the surrounding area. Historic downtown DeFuniak Springs is nearby with local shops, farmers markets and restaurants. 🐢 Our property is home to several protected gopher tortoise dens. Please be careful not to run them over. You may also see deer and other wildlife during your stay. Please enjoy them from a respectful distance and give our tortoise neighbors plenty of room. Whether you're passing through Northwest Florida, planning beach days, exploring the springs and forests, or just want somewhere peaceful to disappear into the country for a couple days.
