Group Landing sits on the western shore of Ocean Pond within the Osceola section of the National Forests in Florida, offering a quiet, wooded setting framed by tall pines and cypress draped with Spanish moss. The layout is decidedly group-oriented: Total campsites: 1 a single, flexible site designed to host a mixed party of tents and at least one RV rather than a row of individual sites. That spot comes with a private sand beach directly on the pond, making it easy to step from your site into swimming, shore-based fishing, or to launch a canoe or kayak. If you have a larger boat, a full boat ramp and a larger day-use beach at nearby Olustee Beach handle trailer launching. Wildlife is commonly seen along the shoreline and in the woods, and the Florida National Scenic Trail runs through the Osceola National Forest nearby for day hikes; the Civil War era Olustee Battlefield is also a short drive away. The site's amenities support a comfortable, self-contained group gathering: four electric hookups, potable water, an accessible bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, a large picnic shelter, picnic tables, a substantial grill and a fire pit, plus bear-proof garbage cans. Those features make Group Landing suitable for an extended family weekend or a midweek company picnic where some creature comforts are needed alongside outdoor activities. Practical details such as fees, reservation rules, seasonal availability and any vehicle-length or permitting requirements are set by the managing office; check with the National Forests in Florida for current policies before you go. To reach the Landing from Lake City, plan to head east on Highway 90 toward the Olustee area and follow local signs to the pond and day-use areas.
