Lake Delancy West sits along the western shore of Lake Delancy in a stand of longleaf and slash pines, with camping tucked into the forest close to the water's edge and to the trail network. Because bears do frequent this area, the park requires you to store food in a bear-proof container or locked inside your vehicle; bring appropriate storage and plan your food handling accordingly. The recreation area functions as both an OHV staging area and a hiking trailhead: on-site corrals and access to numerous marked routes on the Ocala North OHV Trail System are a key draw for riders, while the Florida Trail (hiking-only) runs through the campground for backpackers and day-hikers.
