Set on the quiet southern shore of Lake Dorr in Ocala National Forest, Lake Dorr Cabin occupies a small, leafy stretch of water frontage where palms and other warm-climate vegetation shade the lawn and frame long views across the 1,760-acre lake. Total campsites: 1 this property is offered as a single glamping unit (1 Glamping) that sleeps up to 10 people, making it practical for a family group or two families sharing space. The cabin sits just north of Altoona and is reached by heading up SR-19 and taking East Altoona Road onto McCall (CR 8378); the drive from Altoona takes under 10 minutes. The setting puts you within the broader Ocala National Forest system more than 600 lakes, rivers and springs lie within the forest and the cabin is open year-round. Day trips to larger urban drawcards are straightforward: Orlando and Daytona Beach are each a little over an hour's drive, and local fuel and convenience needs can be met in nearby Altoona and Umatilla. The structure itself is a recently restored, modern cabin with polished hardwood floors and large windows that look out over the lake. Practical amenities include electricity, drinking water, a flush toilet and a hot shower, and the kitchen comes equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and electric stove (note: the pictured fireplace is non-functional). The unit contains one queen bed, two sets of bunk beds and two sleeper sofas, and the entrance and bathroom are accessible; a flat area on the grounds will accommodate two tents if you want to camp outdoors. Water recreation is the property's focus: a private boat ramp and fishing dock are provided, along with three canoes and life vests, plus a picnic table and grill guests commonly boat, ski, jet ski, fish (largemouth bass, crappie and panfish are plentiful) and swim.
