Lake Eaton sits on a large, shallow body of water bordered by the Big Scrub, and the campground lies at the very end of the road where the shore gives way to a small launch and pier. With only 14 sites, the campground feels compact and low-key rather than crowded; each of those 14 sites is set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, so groups with mixed rigs can find a single area to camp. The boat launch and pier are located at the end of the road from the campground, making boating and shore or pier fishing the primary on-site activities the lake's shallow profile and varied shoreline create different pockets to explore depending on wind and water levels. Practical details are straightforward: the site count is 14 total, and all 14 sites serve both RVs and tent campers. This is a seasonal access area, so the campground is available only at certain times of year; for reservations or refund requests call (877) 444-6777. Staffing at this location is limited for general information about current conditions, openings, or access questions call (352) 625-2520 and because services are minimal you should plan to be largely self-sufficient (check reservations and refund policies via the reservation number before you arrive). The compact layout and direct access to the boat launch and pier make Lake Eaton Campground a practical base for anglers and small-boat users who prefer a simple, lakeside setting.

“Nice, quiet campground - no frills, which is why I chose it. Trails from the campground connect within 1/4 mile of the Florida Trail, which made this campsite a perfect spot for some longer day hikes. The lake was a beautiful benefit.”
“Lake Eaton Campground was a nice experience, very quiet environment perfect for resting and listening to nature, clean and tidy with wonderful views of the lake! I will definitely return. with springs just a few miles away to visit!!”
