Rays Lake Park sits on the Georgia side of Lake Seminole and functions more like a compact day-use area with a single overnight option there is just one designated tent site, so this spot is best for campers who want a quiet base for fishing or a short, simple stay rather than a full-service campground experience. The site area includes a shelter with five picnic tables and a grill, restroom facilities within a short walk, and electricity hookups; there is no potable water on site, so bring drinking water and plan accordingly. A concrete boat ramp gives straightforward access to the lake, and a fishing pier with both stair and ramp access extends into the water for anglers or wildlife observers. Because the park is small and campsite availability isn't detailed here, call the facility at (229) 662-2001 for up-to-date information on fees, reservations, and current conditions. You'll find the park roughly 14 miles south of Donalsonville via Highway 39 and 374, or about 19 miles west of Bainbridge along Spring Creek Highway (Hwy 253) connecting to Hwy 374. The surrounding setting is characterized by rolling hills covered in pine and hardwood forest and the vast, lake-dominated landscape of Lake Seminole 37,500 acres of water with roughly 376 miles of shoreline and more than 18,000 acres of adjoining land. The lake is widely known among anglers for abundant cover created by stump and grass beds; largemouth, hybrid, striped and white bass are common targets, and healthy populations of catfish, crappie and bream support diverse fishing opportunities (more than 79 fish species have been recorded). Beyond fishing, the area supports biking, hiking, boating, water sports, picnicking, environmental education and wildlife viewing; expect to see raccoons, alligators, ring-necked ducks, canvasbacks, scaup, hawks, bald eagles, vultures, tortoises and various snakes. If you plan to boat or fish, the ramp and pier make launching and shore angling easy, but remember that on-site services are limited bring supplies and check with the park phone number above before you go.
